Challenge & solution
Workforce planning in production usually breaks in three places at once. The data is scattered across SAP, spreadsheets and CSV exports, so nobody trusts a single view. The plan cannot absorb disruption — an absence or a production change means rebuilding it by hand. And because employee preferences and work-life balance are the first things dropped under pressure, the people being planned end up resenting the plan.
We consolidated workforce data from SAP DMC, SAP SuccessFactors, spreadsheets, CSV files and external APIs into one source, then built AI-assisted planning on top: long-term schedule generation, with real-time adjustment when absences or production changes land. The interface uses drag-and-drop adjustment and traffic-light compliance indicators so a planner can see instantly whether a change breaks a rule, and it works on mobile as well as desktop. Integration reaches SAP IBP, SAP PP and process performance indicators.
The design principle throughout: the system proposes, the planner decides. Automation that overrides human judgement in a production environment does not get used twice.
Approach
- 01
Unify the data
Consolidated SAP DMC, SuccessFactors, spreadsheet, CSV and API sources into a single trustworthy planning dataset.
- 02
Plan with AI, decide with people
AI generates the long-term schedule and reacts to disruption; the planner keeps authority over every change.
- 03
Make compliance visible
Traffic-light indicators surface rule violations at the moment of the change, not in a report afterwards.
- 04
Fit the shop floor
Responsive interface so the plan is usable away from a desk, where production actually happens.
